Another sketch drawn while at work…
One of the kids came to watch what I was doing and studied the picture for a while, then he pointed at it and said “Rev, rev, rev” (Translation: “Fox, fox, fox) with the most serious expression you could ever imagine.
That’s right… A Daily Doodle.
Drew this one at work today in one of the rare times when there’s nothing much to do. I started out thinking I should draw a swamp scene, but didn’t quite turn out that way. My fiancĂ© though it was beautiful, though.
Oh, almost forgot to mention: Click any of these images for a fullsize view.
Here’s the first in a series of pictures I’ve decided to call “Daily Doodles”. I’ll try to put one up each day though I doubt it’ll actually BE every day. The name was chosen because I like the sound of it, but also because it’ll be a reminder for me to sit down and sketch, draw or paint something every day.
This first one is just a series of random sketches and doodles I did randomly while listening to an audiobook (”Earthfall” by Orson Scott Card) and doesn’t really have any particular theme. Future entries may be sketches from my sketchpad scanned in, colored pieces or scoryboard ideas that’s been discarded. Or just about anything drawing-related.
I hope you enjoy it, despite the lack of any artistic merit. ^_^
I’ve recently come across an artist that’s blown my mind.
Scot Drake has a weekly feed of pin-up girls, and the way he draws makes it all look so incredibly easy. I’ve really fallen for the style of his work. Take a look and judge for yourself.
First of all, let me apologize for not updating in two months time. The time befor christmas was crazy busy, hardly leaving any private time at all, and since then I’ve been too hooked on WOW to get any drawing done.
I’ve made myself a promise to change that by setting apart time (a few hours every week) dedicated just to drawing and thinking about “Gobo’s World”. I’ve also resolved to draw at LEAST one sketch every day, be that on paper or digitally, just to keep on practicing.
But enough about that…
As mentioned above I spent a lot of time playing WOW recently, and thanks to the new dungeonfinder tool I’ve been instancing like cracy. XP and loot has come in at a steady rate, and all the while I’ve been collecting Emblems.
I’ve mainly been playing Gormash (orc warrior) or Algernon (forsaken priest), tanking and healing respectively, and it’s been a blast. All the hype you’ve been hearing about the dungeonfinder tool… All true, and THEN some. It’s amazingly easy to use, flexible beyond belief, and downlight brilliant. Great job, Blizzard. :)
I’ve also tried to tweak my UI a bit. It’s been a long time since I’ve played with anything but the regular Blizzard UI, but for some reason or another it just didn’t cut it when I started being serious about being a healer.
So, I tried Healbot. Healbot is a truly brilliant addon that makes healing much more intuitive and easy, but for some unphathomable reason I could never configure it just right. I just couldn’t get it to LOOK right. Worked like a charm, but I just didn’t like the ethetics of the addon. Which is why I then turned to…
Grid! I love Grid. It looks good, it’s flexible and configurable, and it contains a wealth of information that both tanks and healers should be aware of. And combined with the addon Clique it has the same functionality as healbot. Pure gold!
I’ve messed around with a few other addons as well to get what I consider a functional and decent UI. I’ll leave you to decide if you like it or not, but it works wonders for me.
Here’s a list of all the addons I’m using to create this look and feel:
- Mappy (minimap enhancement)
- TitanPanel (infopanel with various uses)
- Recount (Infopane about damage, healing, threat, etc)
- Chatter (chatframe modification)
- Tipsy (moves tooltip)
- Clique (enables click-casting)
- Decursive (simple indicators to dispel debuffs)
- Grid (group and raid panels)
- GridManaBars (adds manabars to Grid)
- GridSideIndicators (extra status indicators for Grid)
- GridStatusHots (better info over HOT spells for Grid)
- GridStatusRes (see incommin ressurections on Grid)
- Gryphons Remover (removes the cosmetic gryphon art)
- ArkInventory (new way to display and sort inventory)
